Silver for Sark
Tuesday has been a busy day for our Organising Committee as we made a presentation at the IIGA AGM. All went well and it was lovely to meet representatives from all of the Island Members to start discussing our plans for 2021. We even managed to meet the challenge of getting not one but two famous movie lines into our presentation!
It's been another excellent day of sporting competition, with excitement reaching fever pitch in table tennis, squash, basketball, athletics and swimming. Mary (our chair) and Amanda (communications and events) caught the cable car to the top of the Rock to watch the ladies cycling time trial. It was a brutal course in hot conditions - we are in awe of these athletes!
We were delighted to see the team from Sark on the main stage in Games Square this evening. The two man team of Nicholas Dewe and Stefan Roberts won silver in the Olympic Trap Team.
Incidentally, the ladies basketball players had a surprise visitor last night... not everyday Steven Gerrard pops in to watch you play (Glasgow Rangers were playing in Gibraltar in the UEFA Europa League). Could we have another new Island Games fan?

The view from the top of the Time Trial course... yes, they really did cycle all the way up from the bottom!
